Introducing an innovative new pathway to architectural living.

Enjoy a more price secure, timely and smoother path to a beautiful architectural build.

Sophisticated and architecturally complete pre-designed homes with a clearer, more cost-certain journey from concept to moving in is the promised product from newly launched New Zealand company, Curated Living.

Launched in May 2024, the company is addressing the need for greater transparency and cost certainty in today’s cost of living climate, while demisting perceptions a stunning, architectural build is out of reach for many New Zealanders.

Founded by qualified builder Todd Farrow and registered architect Michael Cyra, Curated Living combines inspired architectural concepts with innovative craftsmanship from experienced and reputable tradesmen. It became the brainchild of the pair following their successful partnership designing and building Cyra’s family home in the rural settlement of Puhoi, 45 minutes north of Auckland. The visionary pair have 30 years’ worth of experience – across building, project management, surveying, and design.

The growing “collections” of design concepts are available for the public to explore, responding to each of New Zealand’s key landscapes – rural, urban and coastal. Whether future homeowners are looking for a country home that promises peace and tranquility, a seaside oasis with an ocean breeze soundtrack or an ultra-modern urban build that marries elegance and functionality, Curated’s concepts offer a starting point to customize to your individual lifestyle.

Cyra says Curated are making it easier and more accessible to get the home of your dreams by breaking down the often complicated design process into simpler, more transparent steps.

“Many people in New Zealand carry a perception that building an architecturally designed home is unattainable – too expensive, complicated,  time consuming or uncertain. Often, people are unsure of where or how to start, but that needn’t be the case at all. We believe that in curating a fresh pathway to your new home, we can make an architectural build feel effortless and enjoyable. We’ve simplified the approach to building a home that looks and feels as if it was designed especially for you.”

Curated present adaptable pre-designed concepts as a starting point then gather preliminary information, including surveys and engineering reports, to understand a site’s unique characteristics, before tailoring the chosen design to suit the specific site conditions, and client individual preferences. Refined pricing is then confirmed following design reviews and council consents.

“Then it’s time to watch your build take shape, and having worked in unison with the builders to create your design, pricing and timeline, you can be assured of no surprises.” Cyra says.

Farrow says initial response from the public since launching has been incredibly promising.

“The response so far shows that there is a desire out there for architectural design but breaking past some of the unknowns around council restraints, budgets and material pricing can be a challenge to even starting. We believe in a transparent approach to the good and the potential challenges that may lie ahead. We understand not knowing where to start can often be a major hurdle so giving imagery and concepts as a starting point that people can view and imagine helps build that confidence into exploring their options. We’re just making the journey smoother and easier so people can embrace their dream homes sooner and stress-free.”

With over 30 years combined industry experience across building, project management, surveying, and design – Curated Living’s vision is to simplify the journey from conception to moving in.
